Q: Chronic sinusitis =(?
Nothing has worked. Any successful stories of treated/cured chronic sinusitis?
A: Sinusitis is caused by allergies. There are various ways to treat it. If it’s a seasonal thing, then antihistamines, maybe the non drowsy ones, will help you get through the season.
If it’s there continually then first port of call is an allergist to try and find a cause for your allergy sinus. If that’s not successful, then it’s the ENT specialist.
Depending on how bad it is, you’ll be tried on various steroid nasal sprays to try and combat it.
If all else fails then it’s oral steroids, prednisone, which will settle it down, but the side effects can be a problem.
Surgical interventions can also help. Polyp removal and sometimes removal of the ethmoid sinus honeycomb is necessary.
I’ve been through them all. I’ve had the eithoid sinus removed, on predisone, and a nasal spray to help reduce the prednisone dose.
Q: What is the difference between chronic sinusitis and chronic rhinitis?
I have chronic rhinitis but it is hard to tell if I have sinusitis.
A: Rhinitis is perhaps a symptom of sinusitis. It is typically evinced as a clear fluid that comes out of the nose. Sinusitis is an inflammation of the nasal cavities and sinus cause from infection or allergies.

A: You must finish ALL of your antibiotics. If you still don’t feel well after you complete the course of treatment prescribed by your doctor, call your doctor and let him/her know.
Q: Solution for chronic sinusitis sufferer moving to cold country?
I am a chronic sinusitis sufferer who stayed in a warm country , but have the intention to study aboard in a cold country. I am afraid my sinus will worsen during the stay there. What are the things i can do to lessen my condition? What do sinusitis sufferers in cold country do to quicken recovery? Is Warm Moisture Humidifier a good thing in the room?
A: You might be better off, too. Cold air holds less humidity and particulates than warm air. I always get better in dryer cooler air.
It just depends on what is causing the irritation and inflammation. Warm humid air contributes to dust mite activity, which is a very common allergy/irritant indoors.
A good cortisone prescription, like fluonase or nasocort usually helps, although it can take a few days to start working and must be continued daily.
Q: what is the best and simplest treatment for chronic sinusitis?
my son aged 12 is suffering from chronic sinusitis, he is not able to concentrate on studies and also not able to sleep well due to this.
A: The cause for pimples are many and not only adolescence as
popularly believed. Chronic constipation is one major cause,
the food we eat plays a very important role. You will have
to cut down the fried food, chocolates, cheese and aerated
drinks. Eat a lot of fresh fruits and green vegetables with
a lot of water. Instead of washing the face with soap, use
orange peel powder. Dry Orange peels in the shade for 4-5
days. Powder finely and store. Wash your face with this 2-3
times a day. It clears the face and feels very refreshing.

Q: Chronic Sinusitis?
I have been having intense headaches over my right eye on my forehead (sinus cavity) for years. I finally went to a specialist on Monday. I’m going for a cat scan this weekend for a screening of my sinuses. anyone ever had sinus procedures or headaches? What worked? What did the doctor do?
A: I used to get that alot. I take a teaspoon of LOCAL honey each day and it helps. To get rid of the infection you have now, put 2 teaspoons of salt in half a glass of warm water and inhale into your sinuses one nostril at a time. It may sting a bit but your headache will go away within 5 minutes. take a shower and blow out the mucus after you come out of the shower. Don’t blow your nose too hard as you will create lesions or cracks and another infection will set in. Use a saline nasal spray to keep your sinuses moist and keep taking local honey to help your body develop immunities to all the air born irritants around you. THIS PROCEDURE WORKS! Don’t waste your money on medical procedures or harmful medications. Any antihistamine, nose spray or decongestant will dry out your body and cause more infections as well as long term damage to your kidneys and/or liver. You won’t notice this degradation until its too late. Do you know that the leading cause of death in the elderly is kidney failure do to too much medication over time? Cure your problem Naturally and you will be healthier for it.
Q: Can chronic sinuses/sinusitis cause dark rings around eyes?
My right eye has been affected by chronic sinusitis, and my left eye isn’t and I noticed the slight dark ring around my right eye.
My left eye is getting more infected by the sinus and I notice the skin aroung there appeared slightly darker.
A: Yes, definately. I also have chronic sinusitis & have had almost constant dark circles/rings under my eyes.
Q: Is there a definite cure for Chronic Sinusitis (Advanced Stage) in Homeopathy?
I have been suffering from Chronic Sinusitis. Allopaths (ENT Surgeons) suggest surgery, which I am averse to. I would like to know from people who have really got cured – whether there is a definite cure for this disease in Homeopathy?
A: Homeopathy can cure nothing, because it is nothing. It consists of doing nothing. thenoseknowsnothing keeps making claims it cures everything, but I’ve yet to see him offer a single reference to prove these claims.
Allopathy is a pejorative term coined by Samuel Hahneman…the inventor of nothing…to describe what passed for medicine 200 years ago. It involved the balancing of the 4 humours by various techniques such as leeches, poultices and purgings. Allopathy is in fact very similar to many other “modern” mystical traditional healing practices such as those of Traditional Chinese Medicine. To my knowledge, there are no practicing allopaths anymore.
To use that term these days is an intentional insult to modern science based medicine, and those who use it show their ignorance of history.
Q: How did YOU cure your chronic sinusitis?
I have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis. I still think I may have a deviated septum instead of sinusitis. I have had an xray. I am waiting on a ct scan and ENT referral. I have been through an antibiotic/steroid regime and had temporary (but still not full) relief. This time I am on a 1 MONTH antibiotic regime but I have little belief it will actually cure me. I’m just wondering, what has been YOUR experience with chronic sinusitis? What cured you?
Thanks for any responses
A: surgery
Q: Do I have acute or chronic sinusitis?
I’ve had frequent sore throats and blocked sinuses for about 2 years, and I’m constantly sick. The longest I’ve gone without being sick is 3 months, sadly. I have halitosis, and constant post-nasal drip. Since February, I’ve had sinusitis 3 times. Is it recurring acute sinusitis, or chronic? Because it goes away sometimes for a little while but it always comes back.
A: I would say you have chronic sinusitis– your first step should be to visit an ear, nose, and throat specialist. They’ll probably be able to diagnose the causes of your ailment, of which there are many (allergies, GERD, etc.). They’ll probably put you on a strong antibiotic and run a series of tests.

Q: Where can I find authoritative proof that chronic sinusitis can cause sleep apnea?
I have chronic sinusitis caused by a deviated septum resulting from damaged to my head and face sustained in an Army helicopter crash. Shortly after the crash, I developed the sinus infection and while I had most, if not all, of the symptoms associated with sleep apnea, it was not diagnosed until much later. I have had one operation on my nose which did not solve the problem and I ABSOLUTELY will not have another. The Veterans Administration has denied service connection for my sleep apnea and I need some authoritative source to support the assertions found on dozens of ENT and Apnea sites, which cite chronic sinusitis as a cause ( one several possibilities) for sleep apnea. Thanks, Wavie
A: Sorry, but you already found that assertions on dozens of ENT and Apnea sites,as you affirmed, so, why are you stil asking for that??
Besides I think that the most part of web pages can’t be as authoritative as a clinic (signed) certificate.
Q: Can you serve in ARMY Special Forces with chronic sinusitis?
I know that sinusitis is a disqualifying medical condition. However, I know that the military WILL allow waivers depending on the individual.
Please, only answer if you know for a fact. Don’t waste your time or mine by pretending to know.
A: Negative ghostrider. You think your team is going to be very sympathetic when on a mission in the sandbox and you can’t pull your weight because sneezing and sinus problems are getting in the way? How is that going to work when firing your weapon at the enemy? Will your aim be accurate and steady? Think very hard about this and whether it is truly something you want to pursue.
Edit: One more thing, SFAS is hard enough without a constant headache or whatever your symptoms may be. Whatever path you end up taking, good luck.
Q: what are some chronic sinusitis symptoms?
so according to my doctor, i have chronic sinusitis and i feel a whole lot of dizzines and confussion with a lot of pressure on my head. has anyone had these symptoms? because its starting to really freak me out. thanx
A: I believe they are the same as acute sinusitis symptoms but they either last longer (like months) or keep coming back. Those symptoms sound like sinusitis to me. You would also have a green or yellowish discharge if you blew your nose, can feel very tired and not want to do anything like work or school, have bad headaches or “sinus headaches” which usually put pressure specifically on the front of your head and makes it feel like a brick is in there, and you may also have dizziness and sore throat from nasal drainage.
I’ve been diagnosed with Chronic Sinusitis too because mine come back every month or two starting in September and usually lasting up until summer. This has been going on for 4 years now and I woke up with one today (joy…) so I hope we can both find a solution!
Q: I believe I have chronic sinusitis and would like to find out what has worked for others.?
My left nostrial is always swelled over halfway shut and I have facial pressure mostly on my left side. I also feel pressure in my upper teeth. I have had some symptoms for several years and have tried different remedies including nasal irrigation but nothing has really helped. I would appreciate any information and remidies any anyone can provide .
A: You might want to think about researching chemicals in your home and environment. My son is asthmatic and allergic to many things. We decided to box up the toxins and bring in safer stuff…you know we went green! He can breath now! I included some government websites and one filled with information. Let me know what you find out…oh on the EPA website they say indoor air is 2-5 times toxic than outdoors…that’s bad considering what’s outside!
