Q: Sinus infection?
I have sinus and ear infection and started antibiotics. My eyes started getting strange blurry and like a white discharge coming from them. Has anyone had this with infection or with Amoxicillin?
A: Blueeyedgirly – I have ALWAYS had sinus problems. The white discharge coming from your eyes is just mucus from your sinuses (this is the same mucus that is found in the eyes, mouth and nose). Get some eye wash solution at your local drugstore (about $5 and comes with an eye wash cup) and just rinse/clean your eyes out every couple of hours.
You can also just rinse your eyes with clear water, but the eye wash solution feels better.
To prevent future sinus infections, you may want to try using a “Neti Pot”. The “Neti Pot” is filled with warm, slightly salted water and the spout of the pot is inserted into one nostril. The position of the head and pot are adjusted to allow the water to flow out of the other nostril. (Dr Oz recommended on the Oprah Show the daily use of neti pots for people with sinus problems.)
Once learnt, the practice can be done in about 3 minutes and is easily integrated into a daily routine of body cleansing such as showering or cleaning of the teeth.
Neti pots can be purchased at health food stores and on-line for about $5-20.
Q: sinus infection??
anyone know any quick remedies to help with a sinus infection??
A: I use to to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me — my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need
distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don’t get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes
Q: Sinus Infection?
Hi. I was just wondering if my symptoms are consistant with a sinus infection or if it’s something else. I hate going to the Dr. so if I don’t have to I’m not going to. Anyways, I have this really nasty taste in my mouth, and I can tell that my sinus passage is all plugged up and thats where it is coming from. There were also a couple mornings when I woke up with my eyes all crusty. I really don’t have any other symptoms, but I cant seem to get the stuff out. Could it be a sinus infection (I’m thinking so because of the bad taste of it) or just allergies or something?
Just a side note – I’ve used nasal spray’s and decongestants this week, and they do seem to clear my passage way, but not completely.
A: Yes, I does sound like one. You prob need to get a script for some antibiotics, believe me, it won’t go away without them. I’ve been using the nasal sprays as well, temp. fix, I know. The tastes, yes, it’s gross, that would be mucus, infected mucus. Tastes almost metallic? Go see your doctor & get a script. Good luck.
Q: SINUS INFECTION ????
SINUS INFECTION ???????
Has anybody had a bad sinus infection?
Have you ever been referred to a ears nose and throat clinic?
What did they do when you got there?
Did they do a CT scan or any scan of the head?
thanks
A: Only a small percentage of adults with severe or persistent sinusitis require surgery to relieve symptoms that do not respond to medical therapy. Using an instrument called an endoscope, the ENT surgeon opens the natural drainage pathways of your sinuses and makes the narrow passages wider. This also allows for culturing so that antibiotics can be directed specifically against your sinus infection. Opening up the sinuses and allowing air to circulate usually results in a reduction in the number and severity of sinus infections.
Your doctor may advise removing adenoid tissue from behind the nose as part of the treatment for sinusitis. Although the adenoid tissue does not directly block the sinuses, infection of the adenoid tissue, called adenoiditis, or obstruction of the back of the nose, can cause many of the symptoms that are similar to sinusitis, namely, runny nose, stuffy nose, post-nasal drip, bad breath, cough, and headache.
Q: Can a sinus infection make your teeth hurt?
The left side of my face aches! I have a major sinus infection and the whole left side of my face is hurting bad. It also feels like my teeth on the left side are tight. Like I need to bite something to get it to go away lol. Sounds creepy but it hurts. Is it from the infection?
A: Ya it is from the sinus infection. If you see an xray of your teeth the sinuses are really close to the roots of your teeth.
Q: What are some treatments for sinus infection?
I know I have it because I am getting constant pain above my left eye, and I also have a sore throat. I goggled up sinus infection and the causes, and everything they listed is what I have. What can I do to help cure this infection? Also, I don’t know if a sinus infection is life threatening or not, and if it is then what can I do to stop it? Thank you all.
A: I’m currently getting over a sinus infection right now and what has helped the most is doing a nasal irrigation with salt water. You can buy them at Walgreens or Walmart. They’re like a squeeze bottle and you gently squeeze the saltwater rinse into your nostril, one at a time, and let it run out the opposite nostril. Then blow your nose like there’s no tomorrow. It’s gross but it works. I’ve been taking Mucinex to help break it up. Hope you get to feeling better.
Q: Can a gallbladder infection cause sinus infections?
I got a sinus infection right before my gallbladder had to come out from infection and seeing how May is a weird time for a sinus infection, I’m curious if this could be connected.
There were no gallstones.
A: If your body is fighting any serious infection it is slower to respond to other infections, making it easier for them to get a hold.
Q: How do you know when I sinus infection goes too far?
I had a real bad sinus infection 2 years ago. I had to go to the ER. The doctors suspected that the sinus infection may have caused a brain abscess. I didn’t really feel any different than I normally do except I had a high fever and chills. But they said it can come on as something very very gradual that can sneak up on you. Also My mental health began to decline after I first started noticing my sinus problem. Could there be a link between the two?
A: Your nose explodes and falls off!!
Q: Can a sinus infection cause your hearing to be sensitive?
I have a bacteria infection in my sinus cavities, and I’ve noticed the past few days that my hearing has been very sensitive. Even my own voice sounds too loud when I talking in a regular tone.
Is this normal?
A: I wouldn’t necessarily say normal, but it is not uncommon. Often sinus infections affect the Eustachian tube which connects the back of the throat to the inner ear. This is why with little children they often have ear infections that correspond to illness or allergy/sinus problems. After a few days of antibiotics, it should get better.
Q: How do you get rid of a sinus infection if antibiotics don’t work?
I’ve had a sinus infection for two and half months and have been on two antibiotics now and still have this infection, does anyone know how to get rid of these in a matter of a few days? Thanks SO much!

Aside from these natural cure to fight sinus infection, you should endeavor to improve your general health and build up a strong immune system.

Q: What to do when sinus infection comes back after surgery?
My sister in law has a hereditary sinus problem and she just recently had the surgery where they scrape out all the gunk in her sinus cavities. During surgery they found little tumors that were starting to form. This was over a month ago and the infection is already back. Shes been on every antiobiotic known to man of course and the only thing the Dr. can tell her is to move to the coast where there is naturally salt water in the air. Funds prevent this from happening anytime soon. What can she do in the meantime? (natural remedies very welcome!)
A: change the doctor

It may sound really gross, but it does work.
