Q: hives…………………………..?
we have a hive on our porch..but they don’t look ilke bees….or wasps..[or maybe??i don't know..] r there any other type of bug that have hives??
A: I’m sorry, but the question is too vague for an accurate answer.
However, that said, only bees and wasps create hives, so, it has to be one of the two.
Best wishes.

Q: HIVES??????????????????????????????????????
Hey ive been itching all over and come up in bubbles if i scratch is it hives?
A: I don’t know if yours is different but it could be dust mites. I experienced the same thing a couple years ago and only to discover my vac was clogged not picking up dust even tho it appeared to be. Then my sis recently kept getting rashes and itchy so she went to doc who told her she is allergic to dust mite poop *its true* and I discovered her vac was clogged. So hope this helps.
Q: How long does it take for hives to appear after an allergic contact?
My grandson has recently had hives appear. They did get a new kitten about 1 month ago. Could it be the kitten or possibly another exposure? He also went to a new baby sitter on the day the hives errupted for the first time. He continues to have the hives now even though he isn’t going the baby sitter anymore.
A: hives can appear from thirty minutes to 48 hours after exposure, so I doubt it’s the kitten, or he would have had the hives a lot sooner. That he still has them suggests that it is something he is being exposed to currently, hives don’t last much more than a week unless the exposure is ongoing.
Q: How can i get rid of my hives fast for new years eve HELP?
Turns out Im allergic to orange juice, I have hives on my arms, chest and back. I took some allergery medication. How can i get rid of it fast? On new years eve i am going swimming I need to get rid of these hives quick.
HELP!
A: First of all you need to calm down, because stressing about it can actually irritate them even more. Make sure you keep on the allergy meds and take them regularly. Benedryl is among the best for hives. To help with any itchiness or swelling you can bath in oatmeal bath and moisturize your skin with aveeno lotion, calamine lotion helps to after you have used everything else. Good Luck, this is coming from the Queen of hives, as I am allergic to a multiplicity of things
Q: What causes a rash and hives all over the body without any itch?
Three people that I know in different states have developed a severe rash and hives without any itch. They have not been in any contact with each other.
A: Sometimes if you are nervous you can break out in hives…….
Q: How can I drink wine or beer without getting hives?
I believe I have recently developed an allergy to wine and beer. Hives form after a glass. I don’t drink very often, but do enjoy wine or beer occasionally and would like to still be able to have some. Is there something I can do to prevent the hives, itching, swelling that comes with it? I have been enjoying wine and beer for years, and only just recently started having this problem.
A: That’s a tough question. I suffer from allergies myself, and I have reactions to certain red wines-they give me terrible hangovers even if I only drink a glass.
I would advise you NOT to take an antihistamine, since it tends to make you drowsy-it will probably intensify the effects of the alcohol.
If you really and truly enjoy the taste of wine and beer, then go to an allergist and see if they can run a prick test on you to find out which ones cause you the most problems. I would try white wine, since it has a much lower level of histimines (red wine is high in histamines!) and it might be easier on your system.
Another thought: an allergist once told my sister to think of allergy tolerance like a bucket. If you are avoiding other allergens and aren’t having any other reactions, then you’ll probably have fewer problems with one glass of beverage, (think of it like a single drop in the bucket) but if you are already reacting to something else, that one last drop in the bucket will make it overflow-your reaction will worsen.
Also consider organic beverages-it may be residue from a chemical or pesticide which is the source of your allergy. You can get these at Whole Foods and similar supermarkets and whole foods stores.
Q: What makes dogs break out in hives and what do you do for them?
I have a Boxer puppy. No change in food. No changes in anything like soap or anything. Today, she just starting breaking out in hives. I dropped cookie dough on the floor earlier and she got to it before I did. Could it be the peanuts or peanut butter?
A: Dogs and cats tend to be itchier than humans, especially when these animals have allergies. The slightest contact with the wrong thing — anything from plants in the backyard to insect stings to certain foods — may cause them to break out in hives, itchy welts that resemble mosquito bites.
Hives aren’t particularly serious and rarely last more than a few days. But they can be ferociously itchy. Some pets, dogs especially, have been known to scratch themselves raw in their vigorous attempts to make the itching go away.

Q: What are some reasons a that a person constantly breaks out in hives?
For about 6 years, ive been constantly breaking out in hives and weps. I developed an allergy to dust so i would take Zyrtec for them. But i feel as though there is a greater reason behind the hives. I heard someone say once that the hives can be your body telling you something is wrong.
I do have a constant fatigue and most of the time it takes a lot of effort to speak. My joints are stiff and it often causes pain.
I’d really appreciate your help.
A: More than likely you are eating something that is causing a dysfunction in your body somehow. I had hives for 10 years and they went away after I switched to a gluten free diet. Celiac disease and dermititis herpetiformis are two conditions that involve being intolerant to the gluten found in wheat, rye and barley. A doctor can test you for these conditions starting with blood work and usually followed by biopsies. If the tests are positive, go on a gluten free diet and I would expect the hives to go away within a couple of months. If the tests are negative, then try the diet anyway to rule out non-celiac gluten intolerance or an allergy to wheat, rye or barley products. The fatigue and joint issues can also be explained by celiac disease.
Another possibility if the gluten approach doesn’t work is to see if you have a problem with the nightshade vegetables which include potatoes, tomatoes, peppers to name a few. These veggies have a lot of different compounds in them that people can react to and one of their side effects can be skin issues and joint pain. This is less likely than the gluten problem but thought I would mention it.
I hope this helps. I know how frustrating and limiting living with hives can be. If you have more questions about any of this, contact me through here.
Q: Why do i get hives on my arms and behind my knees after i run?
Ever since i got sunburned last summer, whenever i do my daily run i get hives behind my knees. I do my running indoors on a treadmill. Why am i getting hives?
A: Hives can happen from sweat or heat. Also friction. Hives are red itchy welts. If you get a red itchy,
but flat and scaly rash instead, think about eczema. If they are hives try a low dose of antihistamine before exercise. Like benedryl.
Q: How does a person get rid of hives caused by a allergic reaction?
Hives is caused by a allergic reaction to something but the itching is so intence it’s terrible. Can someone please tell me a good solution to stop the intense itching?
A: BENADRYL.. WORK ALL THE TIME…
Q: How long can hives last after a bee sting?
I got stung by a bee three weeks ago and still am getting hives. Is this normal? How long do allergic reactions to stings typically last?
A: OMG if you are still getting hives from it you need to go to the doctor… it should be over in a few DAYS !!! you are allergic to bees…. and might need an Epi shot…. GO TO THE DOCTOR !!
Q: How long will hives last for when having an allergic reaction to medication?
I’m having an allergy to tindamax. So far I’ve been having hives and itchiness for almost a week now, my last dose of medication was 5 days ago.. Is this somewhat normal?
It might be a little bit uncommon, my doctor said that I should have stopped having reactions within 48-72 hours?
A: I had cortisone shots in my knees. The next day, I was itching from head to toe. I bought every cream and spray. Then I remembered Benadryl. I took one, and the itching immediately stopped. I had scratched myself so much, I was bleeding. In fact, thereafter, I would break out in rashes at least once a week and use the same treatment. Any anti histamine would do. (maybe)
Q: How do you treat hives on a 18 month old?
Absolutley no change in his diet and I can’t call the doctor until Monday. They showed up yesterday. Only aroun his waist area and back, torso only, not in the groin, inner thighs or armpit area. Big circles which are outlined by red circles. I think it is hives. They range from the size of pennies to bigger than toonies.
A: Usually hives cover the whole body. What you described may be the start of chicken pox or ringworm. I am not a dr. and really suggest you bring your baby to the nearest hospital emergency room and maybe from there they can beep or cell phone your dr. An 18 month old child with symthoms such as these is nothing any over the counter or diagnosis from answers will do. Please bring your child into the clinic immediately! If need be call the clinic first for advice in case it’s contagious. Who knows, it just may be some small form of allergy, but best not to play dr. with one so fragile and young. Peace.
Q: How do you know the difference between acute and chronic hives?
I’ve had hives for two weeks now, can’t figure out why, nothing has changed. My mother and sister get them, on occasion, and they last usually 30 mins to maybe an hour. I’ve had one breakout when I was young that lasted a day or two. Is it possible these aren’t going to fade?!
A: I was getting hives that were the size of golf balls or the width of small pancakes. I finally went to see an allergist. turned out i am allergic to beef, milk, cabbage, asparagus and DOGS!! I tried otc medications but nothing was helping but to temporarily relieve them. i had to give my dog away
