my doctor prescribed nasonex for me since i have bad allergies. however, i’ve heard that nasonex gives you headaches. im 13. should i still use it?

A: Yes your fine. I took Nasonex and never had a headache. Anyways trust me the medicine works swell against allergies. What it does it stops the inflammation on your nose. Also decongests and lowers the sensitivity to the allergins. When you go to the mirror and use a flashlight to look at the nose notice its red. That means its inflamed that medicine will do the trick on treating allergies. I guarantee you won’t get a headache. But I will advise you make sure you do not spray straight up instead spray to the side and then sniff in. Because if you spray straight up it can actually cause a hole in your nose. The reason why is its a steroid medication.

Q: When using my Nasonex nasal mist for allergies how deeply should I inhale?
I’m starting to use Nasonex and wondering if I should inhale to the point it is contained in my sinuses or till it post nasal drips. Also when is the best time of day? I’m still waiting for allergy testing so I don’t know what i’m allergic to. When is the best time to rinse my sinuses 2x a day,before or after I mist ? Thanks for any advice.

A: With the nasonex you want your head forward (looking down at the ground) and the applicator just inside your nose.
You want a gentle sniff-the medication needs to be sniffed into your sinus’s not down your throat.
Sinus rinses are best before the nasonex (I imagine one morning one nighttime).

Q: Can I take nasonex at the same time I take my multivitamins?
I have been taking multivitamins in the morning now for about a month, and I got prescribed nasonex for my allergies. I’m supposed to take my nasonex in the morning, but I frogot to tell my doctor I was taking vitamins. Is it okay to take them both at the same time?
What would home remedies do for me? I was asking about medication!

A: read the instructions on the package. you can always ask a pharmacist.

Q: Is it okay to take Nasonex and Advil at the same time?
I have horrible allergies so I always use my Nasonex prescription and I just woke up with a headache from hell -__-. I’ve also had a sore throat since yesterday, is there anything I could take to get rid of all of this?

A: Yes, they are fine together – my daughter takes them together on a regular basis.

A: Headaches are one of the highest listed side effects. For it to be listed as a reaction it must occur in at least 5% of people on any medication

Q: What’s the difference between Nasonex versus Astelin?
I have Nasonex & Astelin (nasal spray) but I am not sure wich one will be the best for Sinus congestion?

A: I used to take Nasonex when I was younger for generalized allergies but it was no longer working. I was then switched to Astelin D and that seemed to work for a while to clear the inflammation in my nasal passages, but then it stopped working as well. I am now taking Nasocort AQ nasal spray and it appears to be helping at this time. I think some medicines work better for some people than others and that is why there are so many on the market. I would ask your doctor (which was prescribed most recently and for what symptoms), or try one for a few days and if it doesn’t help, try the other.

Q: What are the differences between Nasonex and Flonase?
I know that Nasonex is a Mometasone while Flonase is a Corticosteroids, but do not know the difference or potency i.e. is one “stronger” and/or more “effective” than the other?

A: Hi! Both are steroids. As to their potency or difference, it really depends on so many factors. it maybe more potent for one but less so on another. The preparation of the drug has also something to say. If given in the injectable form, the effect can be seen faster as compared if given topically as creams or ointments. But it really depends on what the drug is being used for.Steroids especially the topicals are grouped together according to their potency, 1 being the most potent and 7 the least or the mildest. Mometasone and Fluticasone are both in the upper echelon of topical steroids.Nasonex and Flonase(fluticasone), though are nasal sprays and it really depends on the doctors choice as which product to prescribe since they can both work in similar ways.

Q: How long should you continue using Nasonex?
I was prescribed nasonex for severe nasal congestion, and after about 3 days, all my symptoms cleared up. Should I continue using Nasonex every day to help prevent symptoms from coming back?

A: My kids are on Nasonex. Their allergy doctor, ent, and reg doctor.all the say the same thing. It is not habit forming and it is something you can take long term. It does not cause symptoms to get worse over time like Affrin nose spray. If it works and you need it don’t stop.

Q: Has anyone experienced nightmares as a side effect of taking Nasonex?
I was just recently prescribed Nasonex and the past two nights I have had really bad nightmares. I think it’s the Nasonex because I rarely dream at all let alone nightmares! I was so scared I didn’t want to go back to sleep. And I’m 27 years old!!!!
I myself don’t have allergies but my doctor prescribed it with my antibiotic. He said it would help drain out my sinuses and releive pressure. I wasn’t really suffering from sinus pressure or a runny nose, but I am now!

A: I’ve never had nightmares when using nasonex, and I can’t see how they could cause nightmares. They are just a steroid (very small amounts) that you inhale through the nose, they have no mind altering effects. Whilst taking Seroquel (an anti psychotic) I experienced nightmares, but they are powerful drugs that affect the brain. Why are you using Nasonex? If its for an allergy or for nasal polyps it may be that the drug is allowing you to breathe easier though your nose, therefore you are having a deeper, dreaming sleep.
I would suggest mentioning this to a pharmacist or doctor, it may be that you are allergic to it. Good luck

Q: What are the effects of Nasonex on a dog?
During the night my dog chewed open my Nasonex container. I dont think he ingested much but he’s eaten an entire sample jar of vasoline before so Im not sure he knows to leave something alone if it tastes bad. He threw up and was shaking before and slightly ticking. He seems to be fine now and he’s drinking water but should I be concerned?

A: it sounds like he already got over it, when he threw up it probably all went out of him so you got nothing to worry about, but if your still worried just take him to the vet

Q: Can nasonex build your immune system also?
I take nasonex not constant, but a good month at a time. In the past 4 years i haven`t gone more than 2 weeks in a row without getting back on it. It`s the first 4 years of my life that i haven`t got sick at all. I know there is a steroid in nasonex but can this be helping me not get sick also.

A: Steroids inhibit the immune response, so that can’t be the reason for the absence of infections. Most likely, if nasonex has helped, its because it is preventing sinus/nasal infections that are caused by blocked passages. Nasonex opens the nasal and sinus passages so they can drain and keep bacteria and viruses from building up.

Q: Would taking hydrocodone and nasonex together be harmful?
I take hydrocodone every once in a while for major migraines and recently began nasonex. I am not too sure if they interact with eachother, so I’m hesitant to take them both just in case. I can’t reach a pharmicist or dr at the moment either. Anyone know the answer?

A: hell no i don’t think but really i would get better help because it might be on an individual basis. each person might be different but i don’t know! don’t do something stupid! i do know that too much of each together can hurt you but not sure how much!

Q: Does either Nasonex or Loratadine have an interaction with LSD?
I have been looking, but since LSD is not a legal drug, there are no medically sound websites that offer any kind of drug interactions with Lysergic acid. I know Nasonex is a steroid, and steroids conflict with quite a few things…

If you dont know, just tell me the craziest experience your friend has ever had on Acid.

A: There is no research on LSD’s interaction with either of these substances, which is why you can’t find any. There has been virtually no research on LSD in the last 40 years.

Having said that, I would be extremely cautious about mixing Loratadine with LSD, as the recognised side effects of that medication include nervousness and anxiety. Given that feelings of anxiety are one of the most frequent precursors and predictors of a bad trip, it would be ill advised to take any substance that increases these. LSD can greatly increase muscle tension and this combined with the medication may well be enough to set you onto a negative experience.

Given that Nasonex acts as a decongestant, and appears to have no psychotropic properties, I wouldn’t be concerned about an adverse reaction with LSD. However, the medication itself can have negative side effects and if you are experiencing any of these, they could very well contribute to a poor mindset and as such contribute to a fairly ordinary trip. Review the published information about the medication to be on the safe side.

As with any change in your situation, I would suggest that if you are wanting to take LSD, while using other medication, that you take an exploratory trip. This involves a threshold dose of 50 micrograms (half a tab), with the remainder followed about 90 minutes later, assuming all is well. Your experiences in the exploratory trip can then guide you with respect to future trips.

Q: Is the Nasonex bee supposed to be Mexican?
The bee seems to have a Mexican sounding accent although it has blue eyes which I think is rare in Mexicans. Am I right though, is the Nasonex bee Mexican?
To Robert: No it’s not a stereotype, different Spanish accents sound different. My grandpa came from Cuba and spoke Castillian Spanish which sounds quite different than what Mexicans speak. The bee’s accent sounded Mexican to me, not like a Castillian Spanish accent or any other Spanish dialect.

A: Don’t think so.
Otherwise it would grab its balls and say “AY MAMACITA!”.
I think they made accent vague on purpose.
Cause if it did have identifiable accent then the group that belonged to the accent would take to the streets crying “we are not insects!”.
Just like the Taco Bell Chihuahua whine-a-thon.

Q: How am I supposed to take Nasonex if I can’t breathe through my nose?!?
I have a bad sinus infection and literally can not clear my nose enough to inhale the Nasonex spray. I’ve tried everything and I just can’t do it.

Should I just spray the Nasonex anyways and then tilt my head forwards/backwards for a bit after or what?

A: Blow your nose then Spray.

It may not feel like it is working but it is.
